Any good modeler has the patience to make a good model, therefor they probably also has the patience to script it.

No. Starting in one program and moving on to another is stupid. None of the tricks you learn in MS3D will apply in blender.

I suggest giving Blender a try before buying milkshape.

If you know the blender interface well enough, it will be easy.
