Author Topic: So i'm thinkg of learning blender...  (Read 1514 times)

I have some basic experience with anim8or which is a crappy program anyway. I don't script, and I don't animate. Do you think, with this background knowledge, that learning to model in blender will be that challenging? Thanks for the input.

Well, look who decided to wake up :D

The only thing challenging about blender is all those side features that you won't be using for Blockland.

Well, that and I don't know how to export. I could figure that out when I learn to be a good artist.

I have Blender. Haven't used it in ages. I don't even know how to use it.

Haha yeah I thought of contacting you but you seem to have some sort of bl empire goin on right now :D love ur models dude. It's actually what inspired me to try it out myself.

Consider trying blender 2.5, it's only in the alpha stage but I think it's pretty cool. It's also easier to see the editing tools.

It's good. Just don't get scared by all the tiny little buttons and menus. You won't need most

What the hell people. Theres an on and an off switch. Or you can get the more advances models where you have speed settings and pre-set stuff for mincing and dicing and what not.

I'm experimenting with it first before I look up a tutorial. So far, i've figured out... how to... put a sphere on the grid? lol

I started looking around during December, and there are no decent tutorials. I was just looking for how to freaking rotate the camera for a better angle, and today I discovered that holding down Alt and clicking and dragging accomplishes this.  :cookieMonster:

Thinking is the first step to an anurism
