Author Topic: Torque Textures  (Read 5309 times)

Sorry for being such a handicap... but whenever I add textures as a JPEG image, they don't appear, and I have a feeling it's also been causing Torque Constructor to crash.

First I put it in it's own folder -  Torque Constructor > Textures > Brick > [my textures]  When that didn't work, I used an already made folder - Torque Constructor > Textures > Starter > [my textures]  But of course, that didn't work either, and Torque crashes every 5 mins.

Why is this?  Is it supposed to be formatted differently or did I use the wrong directory?

PLEASE Help me D=

You need to add them in in constructor.

ok let me see....

I went to materials>reload all textures, but it didn't work D:

You have to add them into an album.

Added to Torque>Textures>Starter album, reloaded textures, but it didn't work D:

[P.S. I know I'm an idiot... just try to ignore that factor]

Can anybody help me with the directory for your JPEG images of textures?

You have to add them into an album.
This, click the Browse button

This, click the Browse button

Uh duh

echo...

Use .png's. TC doesn't like .jpeg's.

Dunno why...

Oh, and you also have to add them in the material GUI.

Oh, and you also have to add them in the material GUI.

THANK YOU BOOM!  :D

[Finally a valid answer]

Oh yeah and aren't all the default ones a JPEG anyways?

Wow I really am an idiot, I can't even find where to add the images into the material GUI.  (it's graphics user interface correct?)

- Sorry for so many post... let's see... I have 7 posts in an 11 posts topic.  D: -

(or just look at the mapping tutorial next to this topic)

Hmm... the Materials thing is in a drop down menu.

Once I get home, I'll find the GUI Directory for you.

Use the > Search button :|

SHUT IT!

Thanks Boom, that would be highly appreciated.  [D; Cause I'm an imbisile :(]

(Top Selections)

File | Edit | Objects | Tools | Materials | Scene Select | ...

(Material Drop-Down Menu)

Materials

Clean Up 'Used on Map Album'
Reload All Textures
Open Texture Browser...

(Bottom of Material GUI)

(Notebook and a + sign) - Add a new Album
(Notebook and a pencil) - Rename the selected Album
(Notebook and an X) - Delete the selected Album
(Picture and a + sign) - Add a texture to the selected Album
(Picture and a folder with a + sign) - Add all textures in a directory to the selected album
(Picture and an X) - Delete the selected picture

(File Browser)

Navigate like you normally would and find the .png you want

Note: Although TC may be able to use .jpeg textures, Clients in BL can only download .png images. If the texture is a .jpeg, it will be replaced with the default texture.
