camouflage, deception, delusion, misdirection, misguidance, mystification
He is talking about a song...I think...

Well most of you don't care, because your family RPs only need 10000 bricks. But we don't want to look at each brick to find some to reduce. Also it isn't good for the optics.

The only way I could see this as a serious problem is if there was another $20 lego game that could hold 200k+ bricks without lag.

No I thought I could build with hundreds of thousands of bricks which isn't true. So when there will be no changes I give the game back. It's that easy. I want to build with the game and not playing family RPs or crappy battles. I like the game, but I can't use it in the way I need.

How on earth are you guys rendering the brick limit in a multi player game?

I have no problems rendering 130000 bricks at one place. I sometimes play on an older notebook and have no lags or crashes with that much bricks (the server wasn't hosted by me).
Also we wouldn't build that much at one place. But to build that all on one server is important. E.G. for RPGs where you have event values which you can't dub to a second server at the same time.

I have reached the limit in the past :(
Also other people did. Like the big CityRPs. They always have to delete some stuff to build new one.
I also saw the Titanic server the last time and he will get it never finished with that much bricks he already has.

I never saw you build before. Sorry if you're a good builder aswell.
We had some dedicated server online the time the map Plate2 and the colorpack from BAC were released. We started the Project Bac's Town v2 and published the map with him. Linkguy and his brother (they made e.g. the Cathedral in the Gallery) also helped us with the town and started with us the project RPG (passworded). Then we met Joux who is in our age and when we started to play and help on his server (Jouxs CityRP) there was also the problem with the brick limit. The several towns were far away and could be reached by teleport (=no lag). But there were no more free lots for people and for another town there weren't enough bricks left.

Now we came back and there is still that brick limit. For me it's a big constraint (which could be easy changed). It's a niche game and I like it, but it makes me furious that we can't realise the projects.

I think you're being reasonable.

I hate to rail against Badspot, but, you know, if it is as you say; so simple, there really isn't a reason to be so resolutely unreceptive about it.

There's the torque engine limitations which only allows so many objects in the game it once. It used to be 130k~ but Badspot mentioned earlier about some raise in it, I think.

I heard that part, but still, you know.

It'd be nice if he discussed it so everyone knew.

I am discontent with the product I purchased. The features do not correspond to the product I got here. Building with "hundreds of thousands" of bricks is not possible and I do not have "endless possibilities", which it says in the features. "The only limit" is not my "imagination", it is the brick limit.
The 128k brick limit is set in place because that is totally how much the game can handle at one time. No matter how good your computer is the Torque Engine that Blockland runs on will not be able to hold up that many.
I also tested the product with the demo version. It tells me, if I do not want the demo limitation, I have to buy the game. But after I bought the game there is still a limit at about 130000 bricks.
Because of this misleading product description I want you guys from Blockland LLC © to give me a solution how to get the "endless possibility" and use the described features. Building with only ~130000 bricks is ridiculous!

A customer from Germany
So basically you're saying you want to build more than 150 bricks for free.
You're saying you want Blockland free pretty much.
This is Badspots work. You don't have to pay for it if you don't want to, you just won't be able to enjoy it fully, because eventually 150 bricks by yourself gets boring, right?
I'm also annoyed because of the brick limit. A lot of projects I wanted to start with my friends aren't possible.
Badsport described how easy it would be to increase the limit. His arguments, that there are problems because of the bandwidth, are mindless.
It should be logical, that you can't host 100000 bricks with a crappy hardware and connection. But there are also people who want to build more complex and who have a strong hardware and bandwidth.

Also a dedicated server isn't that resource hogging. And I don't care if I have to load 3 instead of 1 minute.
My suggestion is, that there should be no more limits, like the brickcount and bandwidth, because I can host servers with a 100 Mbit Up and Down connection located in Frankfurt. There should be only a config limit (which can be increased).
So if people change their config (the limit) they don't have the recommended settings any longer and then there CAN be problems.

Here is the link where badspot wrote about the bricklimit.

Again, the brick limit is in place because the Torque Engine can't handle that many bricks at one time. No matter how fast your internet is or how powerful your computer is, Torque won't be able to handle that many.

Disregard my entire post. Good job self not reading pages 2-5. Maybe I should go to sleep now.

...
When do you even get to 128,000? Anyway, that is the limit because the game can't handle more. Although, there is an engine bypass that allows more, but it gets very laggy because of all of the bricks.

Noedit: Woops, didn't notice that there wasn't an edit button... :C

128000 bricks = extreme lag and imagination burnout
The limit is your imagination because you have to imagine and implement new ways of not getting 128000 bricks

What you guys write is not correct.
Badspot wrote himself that it is possible to increase the limit: http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=15483.msg209596#msg209596

2. We build as much effective as possbile. But it seems you guys don't understand that.
3. No one tells you guys to join servers with a lot of bricks.

I hope there will be a change.

I meant efficient... sry

It's okay. We all make mistakes.

have you even tried building one build at a time, saving, clearing all bricks, then building another?

And then loading them all when you're done?
