Author Topic: Graphics card not running to its full potential?  (Read 1282 times)

Well I got this new computer, and dxdiag says that the graphics card has 825 mb of ram, but when I tried canyourunit, it said that I only had 125 mb. Also Team Fortress 2 runs incredibly slow, when I have the recommended specs otherwise. Whats wrong?

The 825MB is not your VRAM.

My GPU only has 512MB of VRAM.

i have 64.mb of vram and it runs oblivion and tf2 fine

Dxdiag sometimes forgets up like that.
My video card has 1GB of memory and on dxdiag it says i have almost 3GB.
I think it has something to do with the amount your computer has and it "shares" it.

Your video card has 64mb of video memory though, the game test thing is right.

no, it's on the display tab.
that's video memory.
dxdiag just sucks OK!!!!

It is the sharing.
In Dxdiag, it shows the TOTAL amount of VRAM, shared and dedicated.

Wow, you have a better graphics card than me and I can run the minimum settings.

no

the cover looks like a transformer.

"Can you run it" is most likely the probelm, not the graphics card.
