Help / Re: Saves missing after computer crash

If you have Vista I suggest trying to look where I found my stuff. This saved a bunch of stuff I was sure were gone.

I found mine, thank god.

[My name]>AppData (this folder is hidden and you need to change folder options to view hidden folders to see it) > Local> VirtualStore >ProgramFiles > Blockland > Saves

I knew they couldn't have been deleted. I don't know why the compatibility files thing is gone. I'm going to also PM this to you just in case because I know how freaked out I was when I thought I lost my saves.

Help / Re: Saves missing after computer crash

I had a similar problem when I installed RTB and moved my Blockland folder to C: . I had backed up elsewhere a few times on this PC, but all my old saves appear to be missing as I am unable to click that button where I used to. Searching my computer also ends up with nothing.

I don't know what the direct cause of it could have been, because my backup folders were dragged away from any contact with the main Blockland folder. So I assume they should exist in some form, but I can't seem to find even the smallest hint that they still exist anymore.

Help / All saves gone? Even my backups?
« on: July 04, 2009, 09:29:15 PM »
I tried moving my Blockland folder from /Program Files to /C: and installing RTB. Loaded it up, noticed saves were missing. No huge issue, as I'd backed up my saves twice before, once recently. Those also appeared to be missing. Searched my computer for anything ending in a .bls, nothing other than the pre-installed maps come up.

I figure either I'm overlooking something huge, or they're gone. What would have caused this, though? How did my backup folders which I kept separate also get effected by this?

Help / Confirming a Room is Port-Forwarded
« on: July 02, 2009, 05:55:19 PM »
I know how to do port-forwarding, but my router/modem seems to be terrible at the moment, so I can never tell if it recognizes it properly.

Is there any way to check in-game if you've port-forwarded right on your own, once you host a room?  I've been able to get multiple people to join, but my friend has been unable to enter.

Is it even possible to host a room without port-forwarding or using a dedicated server? I suspect my room might just be like this right now. Since I was unable to save bricks planted out of view, by someone else.

I just need to know if my room counts as port-forwarded or not. Thanks.

General Discussion / Re: ► V12 Explained (Huge post)

In v12 do I still have to host a non-dedicated server if I want to save all the bricks without having to load them by 'looking' at them? This issue seemed to spring up on my dedicated server once v11 came around, but it might have just been coincidence.

Okay I managed to host without the opening the dedicated box, and I still get the same issue. I know my issue is I will only save the things I have viewed, but I am the host here. Why am I still getting this problem? Is there any reason I could possibly still be having this happen?

That's strange, if you're the host of a non-dedicated, it's supposed to save all bricks, whereas clients save any bricks they've rendered.
A non-dedicated? I do have to open the dedicated DOS thing in order to host for whatever reason. But this problem has only come up lately.

Help / Brick Saving on V11
« on: April 10, 2009, 04:27:58 PM »
I'm always hosting and saving my own games. Since version 11 I've been occasionally getting pretty severe  bricks saving issues. It seems as if there are certain times that it will only save the bricks around me (Which I've heard is supposed to only happen to the people who have joined my room.) I have checked the BLS files to confirm that there is actually less data on some of my more recent saves.

This is on the bedroom map. Also I disabled all additional mods just to be sure that one of those weren't the cause.

I'm always hosting and saving my own games. Since version 11 I've been occasionally getting pretty severe  bricks loading issues (like only 600 of a few thousand will even attempt to load), and would have to load up older saves to get close to completing maps. This is on the bedroom map.

Help / Bedroom ground-level blocks don't appear.
« on: February 06, 2009, 09:11:16 PM »
On a level like Slate everything seems to load up fine for the most part, but I'm getting a bug in the Bedroom level (especially when there are a lot of bricks loaded) where I can't see the first few ground levels of bricks. The character also sometimes goes partially transparent when the view is in front of these bricks. I've attempted to turn down texture detail and such but it seems to still be like this.
