http://www.mapofthedead.com/

In preparation of the impending apocalypse, I believe this should be made widely available.

Basically, Google Maps now has the capacity to guide you to jewelry stores that might just double as army training grounds.

I live in forget nowhere lol
I am safe. Are you?

I have two stuffty laptops. One just went kaput. The other is still stuffty but sort of works.

After about an hour and a half of anything it just freezes. Be it Blockland, iTunes, or just general browsing. It's annoying as forget. Fans never really kick in, CPU is at about  50% and RAM is at about 40% most of the time.

I just had it 'repaired' for $100 and it still does this. They did a system scan and rethermaled it.

I don't think it's the drivers, and to make sure I tried installing them from a website as opposed to the disk that came with the computer.

It's a Dell Studio 1535.

Any ideas?

Memory stick or Dropbox or whatever it is.
As far as I can see I have to download it while running Windows. I can't do that.

So uh.
Any suggestions on the problem at hand?

I have a replacement.
I am getting Windows 7.

I just want my most recent files and I want to know if I can get them back.

So my stuffty Inspiron 1525 won't boot Windows Vista anymore. Great.

I want to recover everything that I can before I hit it with a hammer, so I'm looking for advice to recover any last files that I can.

So here's what I can do with it:

- Boot Ubuntu
- Do stuff with Ubuntu

And here's what I can't do:

- Boot Windows normally (starts loading, never stops)
- Boot Windows in safe mode (restarts after it supposedly loads
- Last known good configuration (advanced) (gives me another endless loading cycle)
- Boot the OS installation disc (loads Windows files, loads, get black screen, mouse won't pop up)

And here's the message that I get when I follow this tutorial to access my Windows files through Ubuntu:

Quote
Mount is denied because the NTFS volume is already exclusively opened.
The volume may be already mounted, or another software may use it which
could be identified for example by the help of the 'fuser' command.

so uh
Any ideas?
I'm expecting a "you are forgeted".
