« on: September 02, 2013, 06:58:52 PM »Uhh, not unless you live in an oven. I would just hold off on the cooler. If you don't plan to overclock, there's no use for it and if you end up wanting it it's easy to order when you actually do.
As for your build, do you really need an 8-core cpu? It's good for futureproofing but if you don't do much for productivity (as in, videos, encoding, and other multithreaded applications) you really won't notice much of a difference
Well, the case does have like 5 fans.
I also record and edit audio, video and photos. I could probably take a step down on the CPU, i guess.

« on: September 02, 2013, 06:50:20 PM »That cooler will be a good idea to have to keep it cool when the room you're in is warm/hot. Unless you keep the room constantly cool than I'd suggest getting the cooler.

Hey all,
I'm looking to do my first build that I'll be doing myself, and I've put together a list of parts... Could y'all just look it over and make sure I haven't missed/overlooked anything? Or possibly recommend replacements? I dunno. Here's the parts list:
CPU- FX 8320
CPU Cooler- Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO (Is this necessary if I'm not going to overclock?)
RAM- G.SKILL Ripjaws 8GB (2 x 4GB)
GPU- Saphirre Radeon HD 7970
Motherboard- ASUS M5A97
HDD- Western Digital WD Blue 1TB
Case- Apevia X-Trooper RED
DVD Drive- Black SATA 24X DVD Burner (Might remove)
PSU- Corsair TX650
By the way, my budget is 800$

Kelly's heroes is by far my favorite, and now I'm looking for someone to make a couple of the vehicles for me. I want to use them for a machinima
