Minecraft is a great game. I recommend it to anyone who plays blockland. However Blockland is and will always be my favourite game ;)

Drama / Re: Diggy, The Stupid A** Man.
« on: January 17, 2011, 09:33:39 AM »
I agree with him, Diggys Server is extremely laggy. The builds are great.

And with Swat725 taking over the server thrown on top of that...

Different story.

The server was great once, great builds, great admins, great time. Then Swat and the other people come along, get admin and then build everything in the server. I go around wrenching things 'Swat725 does not truth you enough to do that'.

Ever since what happened between me and swat a little over a year ago. He claims he 'doesnt remember' and just wants to get on with life and pretent nothings wrong.

Do not go to that server, do not trust anyone from that server.

This is starting a whole new drama topic so I'll leave it at that.

Lol @ Racism.

On Topic: Great looking Locomotive, and Tender. Dare I say the Tender is better than my Big Boy which I made earlier last year o-o

Suggestions & Requests / Vehicle - Submarine
« on: January 06, 2011, 03:39:01 AM »
Introduction
--------------------------------------------------------------
I have put some forethought into this, and I think it's time that Blockland had some sort of underwater-based vehicle.

It would be someone modeling a Submarine using Blender or other modeling program, to make a vehicle that would be spawned normally on the Vehicle Spawn in Blockland.

Some pictures of submarines are shown here:

Shown above, is a U-Boat. Standard Armament: Torcreeps & Cannon/Machine-Gun

Shown Above, is a Nuclear Submarine. Hence their name, most of these vessels usually carried nuclear-based weapons on board.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Function
--------------------------------------------------------------
The submarine would be a medium-to-large sized vehicle that has some form of combat capabilities like the ability to shoot torcreeps.

I have also been toying around a bit with blender, and I think that that is basically what it would look like in real life.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Movement and Diving
--------------------------------------------------------------

Perhaps making the vehicle move in a similar manner to the box train, except it will turn faster.

As for the diving up/down;
I currently have two ideas for how to pull this off:

The Submarine could operate in a similar manner to the player's float/dive capability. You would hold shift to dive and release it to rise to the surface

-or-

The Submarine could operate in a similar manner to auto jet, the vehicle would have some form of keybind that you use to rise/fall in the water.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Torcreeps & Other Combat
--------------------------------------------------------------

If the submarine were to shoot torcreeps, I'd suggest that the torcreeps were only able to be armed underwater to help prevent people using them as missiles or other things like that.

The torcreep would have a propellor animation on the rear, it would make an ambient noise like propellor ambience or water displacement (sounds that water makes when objects pass through it) or something as it moves through the water

A particle emitter would be good too, like bubbles coming out the back of the torcreep as it moves.

--------------------------------------------------------------
Other Armaments
--------------------------------------------------------------
Other Armaments such as a roof-mounted machine gun or cannon such as the ones on U-Boat Vessels.

A model for the machine gun could be similar (but not limited to) the 'MG' Vehicle that is currently spawned on the vehicle spawn.
--------------------------------------------------------------
End
--------------------------------------------------------------
I hope that someone is able to make and script this, I do not have the skill nor the avaiable time to devote to such a project. But the idea is out there, and I hope that it will be discussed.

And as people have said time and time again, "If you dont care, dont post". If you just want to reply with negative comments then dont post at all. This is a discussion not a troll hive.

General Discussion / Re: I'm new!
« on: January 06, 2011, 02:02:59 AM »
Hi welcome to blockland! But as you might see 75% of the blockland community is full of starfishs so don't expect people to be nice to you except for older players.

Good job I used to play roblox too but I grew out of it.

"Litt kiddz sould no be swear, they mite get bann."

On Topic: I played roblox once, and I was banned once for saying "Hai :D"

Roblox is not better than blockland, yet some people seem to think it is. I tried roblox about a year ago to see what the fuss was all about. It was O.K. at first, then after about a day or two it sucked and I went back to playing blockland. I'm never going back to roblox. Do not pay for roblox, as someone said "They are just hunger 4 monnies"

Very nice indeed! I would love to see Stephensons Rocket or the french TGV

Thanks.

I'll see if I can make the French TGV  next, I love that thing....

The trains never actually run, the ones I built are just for display. If you are referring to the Box-Train, it is a vehicle spawned on the vehicle spawn. The box-trains run on the tracks that me and my brother built for them.

And yes I will be posting more.

Thanks. I will also be posting more Locomotives, I'm thinking about making the US 'Big Boy' or 'Challenger' next. If not, I'll have a go at making some SD-40 versions.

The railway that I was making has a fully-functional signalling system (using events), when the train passes a signal it affects all the others like in real life. The stations also have 'Arrival Boards' which buzz a sound and flash whenever a train is coming into the station, it says which track it is on also.

Me and my brother got bored one day, so we started making this (massive) railway to run the Box-Train vehicle on. I spent a little time making the railway, then I decided to make scale-replicas of some Locomotives. All of these Locomotives will have interiors, they aren't just good-looking on the outside.

I'll post pictures of other Locomotives as I build them, so 'Stay Tuned'.

The first one is a BNSF Dash 9 (Or SD-80). For those of you that dont know,
the BNSF stands for 'Burlington Northern Santa Fe'. BNSF's Locomotives usually operated on the American Marias Pass moving heavy freight on a 70 Mile route spanning the distance between Shelby and Whitefish.
I Spent 3 hours building this.

Inside the Cab of the Dash-9:

Inside the Engine Room of the Dash-9:

This second one is a Freightcorp 81 Class Locomotive. These locomotives are a common sight in NSW, Australia. They are mostly used for moving freight around. This one I couldn't make any better, I just didnt have the right bricks. I spent about an hour on this one.

Inside the Cab of the 81 Class: (There is one at each end)

Inside the Engine Room of the 81 Class:

This one is the UP Big Boy. This train usually runs on the Union Pacific Railroad which spans the United States of America from East to West. This train is most commonly used to pull immensley heavy loads of coal, and other freight along the spectacular route. I spent 4-5 hours building this.

(Tender is kind of spammy, but its the best I could do)

Looking out the back of the Cab into the Tender:

Inside the Cab of the Big-Boy:

(Yes, you can actually look out the front and side windows)

The Boiler Tubes and Pipework inside the Boiler of the Big-Boy:

(The Boiler is the big cylindrical object that runs the length of the locomotive)

That's all for now, more coming soon!
