Off Topic / Asus Laptops, which to get?
« on: January 23, 2012, 11:25:42 PM »
I much to lazy to build a computer and I would rather have a professionaly built one. I've been wandering around on  Newegg and I've been looking at a few laptops. Im not a heavy gamer and I usually only play games like Minecraft, League Of Legends, Terraria, RS, and occasionally Blockland. What I would really like to play is SWTOR and maybe some other games like Skyrim or possibly BF3. I usually only do casual gaming but if a cheep laptop can meet my needs and have the abillity to do things without freezing or crashing like a complete bitch I'll be fine.

My budget is around 600-700 dollars. I'm a fan of Asus laptops and have been for a while. I want a laptop and a laptop only. If someone would help me choose the best laptop for my needs I would be greately appreciated. Thanks for the help it is greately appreciated. -If I can find a laptop that is also at a bestbuy I can get 250$ off of it.

*Also what are some things I should think about while buying this laptop?

I was using that graphics card for a while. Had to run everything on low, but still got a laggy 30fps, a little enjoyable. But then I upgraded to the AMD 5570. Now everything is oh-so-smooth.
I don't have money, but there is a possibllity that im getting a mac book pro for christmas. If so, will that run Minecraft.

it's integrated

and yes he is
I play Gmod all the time
works just fine
Well, minecraft had a some install Java 64 for farther rendering, it didn't change a thing. I tried a newer version of Java and still nothing changed. Changing the amount of allocated memory didnt work either. So, im screwed?

if I'm not mistaken, both your processor and RAM are above average

but even if that's not right, I still have a slower processor and can run MC
what about your GPU?
How would I find that out.

So my computer is stuff, I was given a new one it was fairly cheap and imo its pretty cool.
Except the fact it can't run any game without crashing or lagging.

Specs.

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm)II X2 220 Processor 2.80GHz

Ram: 4.00GB

Its and HP and it was like 400 dollars so my moms friend gave it to me. I can still do my graphic design at very low resoulution. I want to play games though.
If you wanna know how stuff it is, it can't run Minecraft.

64-bit or 32-bit?
Sorry but this avoids any possible incompatibilities.
How could I tell?
