Just a quick clarification, when you say "I'll have trouble with it" are you saying "trouble running it period" or "trouble maxing it"?

Trouble maxing it.

Trouble maxing it.
Oh well as long as I get nice visuals I'm fine. I'm fine with it looking "pretty good" and not "breathtaking" on some of the most recent games as long as I'm a step above, for example, how I'm currently running Assassin's Creed:

(imagine this but stretched to a 1600x1200 screen)

Also I didn't even get good framerates with it set that low.

Yeah, you won't be able to max it, but you'll definitely be able to get above that picture.

On other games.

Assassin's Creed should, theoretically, be able to get maxed out on that machine.

Yeah, you won't be able to max it, but you'll definitely be able to get above that picture.
Assassin's Creed, or the recent games I listed?

Ha, the ninja has been ninja'd!

Ha, the ninja has been ninja'd!
Oh well.

Anyway I'm sorry to be so naggy with questions, but I'd like to know what to expect so I can look forward to this purchase and somehow save money faster.

a 5770 is slightly more powerful than a 260, so getting a 250 instead would be dumb. Also whoever mentioned a 5870 I think those are still over $300

Another handicapped remark by Visage.  The 5770 is worse than a 260 by quite a bit, it is only slightly more powerful than a 250.  The 5870's are still around $400.

The answer is no.  To do that, you'd need to have a 5870, maybe a 5850.

5770 would be able to max with AA at around the 1280x960 region.  For the latest games, at least.

More bullstuff.  My 4870 was nothing compared to a 5870, but I could run all the new games maxed at 1920x1080.  A 5770 can run the newest games mostly maxed at 1600x1200 easy.  Sirrus will have no trouble doing what he wanted in that list with a 5770.  GTA IV might forget up for him, but it's an extremely glitchy game.

Cool. Usually your reality checks say something like "You think that (insert computer part) is good? That can't run stuff!" what a pleasant turn of events.
