Author Topic: Guess whose modem/router won't port forward... Again.  (Read 1116 times)

Go to your router, click Status, and take a picture. Your modem link should be there.

We're using an SMC 8014W-G cable modem with a built in router

Tried disabling the port forwarding rule and leaving only UPnP enabled?

Built in router.
Oh... Sorry. Can't help there.

The best I can do is http://portforward.com/

Hope you get it sorted out.

Double toast.

I meant don't have port forwarding AND UPnP enabled; they seem to conflict - I would suggest only UPnP.

I took off the port forwarding and now it says my ping is --- and no one can join.

Do you have XBOX live by any chance? It inter feered with my router, And it has done it to one of my Friends to, And now it's harder to host.

Nope.

Im not able to see your screenshot - but one other thing to check.  Every router ive done port forwarding on, also requires the PC to be setup with a Static IP address or it wont work.  you can check that by going to a command prompt and typing:  ipconfig /all
look for something that says: "Dhcp Enabled"  it should say 'no'.

Chances are what happened is you had the static IP setup, and somebody changed it back to the default.
