Win7 32 -> 64

why the hell are you updating from Windows 7 32bit to 64bit

it's nothing different; just a version for a different processor, the 64bit

its a HUGE difference.
first of all, more memory. because having less then 4gigs of ram is pretty stuffty nowadays.

second. the higher end processors and even video cards require 64bit. mostly for the 64bit directX support.

im not a fan of using external HD's for anything but a huge mp3 and avi dump.

i always have that 1T, (D:)drive just for backing up and reformatting. (that i do like every 4-6 months lol)

Yes, 1gb is 1024 mb of ram (My computer has 4gb of ram)

The main reason people use 64bit is its ability to utilize more RAM than 32.

You don't really need more than 5 or 6 GB...
