Author Topic: What is minecraft?  (Read 1849 times)

I've heard that Minecraft is an excellent game. But firstly I would like to know what it's all about. Why buy it? What is the difference between the browser game and the purchased one?

You don't have to use Internet Explorer to run it.
And it lags less.

There's totally not a 752 page thread about this a few topics down.

None of your replies help me too much.

My main question is why buy it?

I would rather not look through hundreds of pages to find what I want.

Well I click the link and I see; Youtube links, obviously gameplay. Is that the purchased version? I don't know... VERY basic info about the game, and some offline servers...

Oh and a logo.

Very helpful.

I want to know the loving difference between the purchased version and the in-browser version. Is there any multiplayer? Is it for the purchased version only?

Ok, now from what I understand is that you buy alpha, but singleplayer is free. Does alpha include multiplayer? What is alpha exactly?

Alpha is the cool stuff.

Infinite maps.
Monsters.
Crafting.
Mining.
Farming.
Chopping.
Ranching.
Exploring.
Mechanics.
Weapons.
Survival.
(soon to be) Multiplayer.

And more as he adds onto it.

Minecraft is a sandbox-like world where you can manipulate the enviroment and live off of it, crafting tools to help you. When you buy the game, you receive all future updates free of charge, including multiplayer when it becomes public.

Sadly, I REALLY need to save money, but I want to try the full game out and play it with you guys. :(

Thank you. This all I needed to know.
