Author Topic: Is this a good graphics card?  (Read 1836 times)

My graphics are integrated, and I only have 1gb of RAM. Is that bad?
It depends on what you use your computer for.
If your like my parents and only store pictures and go on facebook, then no.
If your like everyone else and prefer games, than mabey.
If your like me, and download software nearly every 4 days and run it and has 3 Antivirus software running. Than hell yea.

well a lot of modern games require at least 500m of video memory to run these days.
say 500 comes out of your main computer's 1000 ram.

now the rest of the programs processes, and windows itself have to run off that measly 500 thats left.

this is the same for your processor power as well. must be shared. slowing everything down.

integrated basically means, this machine is NOT for gaming.

Alright, so would it help a little bit to upgrade my RAM to 2gb, or should I spend the money on a graphics card?

I think what you are looking for is RAM.
How many processes do you have open on your taskbar? Is it like that all the time? Or more?

That's what it is when I'm just browsing the forums. Sorry if I'm a dumb ass when it comes to this stuff.

Yeah it is always like this, and I often run things like iTunes, Paint.NET, Firefox, and Blockland at the same time, and they always crash. But this is just when I'm on the forums. Yousef is my name. (arab)

Then you may need to get your RAM up to 2 or 3 GB.
