Why would another intelligent race be stupid enough to come billions of light-years across a galaxy just to kill us?

If they could travel like that, wouldn't they be able to synthesize their resource? And wouldn't traveling like that deplete their poor resources anyway?

Maybe their home planet revolves around a dying sun, so they take planets and throw them into the sun so it keeps burning.

If they could exploit some... Thing about space, like the ability to cross insane distances using little resources but also extremely quickly, it would suddenly be extremely feasible to invade another planet for the resource.
