Author Topic: Is it possible we are truly alone in this universe?  (Read 3502 times)

Opinions, is it possible we are alone in this universe? There's thousands, millions, billions of galaxies possibly, each with millions, billions of stars in them? It actually boggles my mind to think that anyone can believe we are completely alone, the only life in the entire universe. It is much easier to say we are the only life in the galaxy, sure, but the entire universe? No way in hell.

Not to sound cliche, but if we do get invaded by an alien race for whatever reason, could we really stand a chance? Could we actually fight them off with our firearms? Sure, humans can be stubborn and hard to completely wipe out, but what are the odds we could stand against an alien race that can traverse the stars and manage to at least fight them off? They could have any weapons, far beyond what we could imagine, something that makes our most advanced weapons and machines look like flint arrowheads and stones tied to sticks.

I extremely doubt that we are alone.
And i have mixed thoughts on aliens invading and such.

I would stuff myself and would want to die if we are the only technologically capable species in the universe, or if Earth is the only habitable place, ever.

Also, they might have simple weapons such as those that can kill all life on planets by some sort of selective spacial pattern that distorts sentient ability to reproduce and live. No need to invade, all animals are dead, only trees and buildings are left.

No Mr. Sagan, we are not alone.

There is other life. But it's plant life found on one of Jupiters moons.  :cookieMonster:

think about it. what good is a sniper rifle when you have a stuff load of arrows with stone heads launched at you, anyway, if we DO get invaded how would we know they can survive in out ecosystem? just because everything on out planet evolved to breath oxygen doesn't mean they couldn't breath some other poisonous gas that we don't have a lot of.

I never said it is only possible for life to breathe oxygen, but any race capable of getting here would have some form of data on this planet unless they were incredibly desperate, so they would bring some sort of self-contained atmospheres inside of a suit that they would be wearing.

Or they would use an army of robots, whatever floats your boat.

How do we know we aren't the invaders? There could be some other race out there that is exactly like ours only they're not human.

Nope we are not alone and that is all I have to say.

I do believe we are alone.
Why I say that, I have my reasons-SHI-
My soup is burning.

If anyone has watched war of the worlds we would know that aliens would not be capable of being here for long, as we have infinite organisims that the aliens wouldn't gave grown immune to, they would die off before they could completly destroy the earth.
