A few games don't work on macs. Many are porting to Macintosh, though. Also,This reset thing helped fix my L4D issue, too! C:
Last thing to ask, is there a way to play Half-Life on a mac? I don't want some cheap application that is basically the game. I want something like codeweavers' tool.

Just get boot camp and XP or something, all exe file players are done so hackily.
And besides, I don't think that any of those exe players work with steam's file system.
