About $50 spent on Steam Games - Aww, crap!

Ok, so I purchased $50 on funds and got HL, CS:S, and L4D. First off, I didn't know until I purchased it that Half-Life isn't available on Mac systems. Second, Counter-Strike: Source isn't connecting to the Steam Servers. Lastly, Left 4 Dead crashed before I make it to the main menu.

Am I screwed? I need help!

You're not screwed 100%, you own the games for life (at least until Valve shuts down Steam in the event of an apocalyptic future ).

Just upgrade your computer.

Why would you buy Half Life and not Half Life 2?  Same with L4D ._.
