Only pirate-based game I own is "Sea Dogs", made by Russians in 2000 and published by Bethesda. It's pretty terrible, but firing cannonballs at random French merchants after cheating to the biggest ship and loading it with bombs is entertaining.

Pirates of the Burning Sea. It's an MMO and the only reason I like it is because you don't HAVE to be a pirate. But sadly, most people are anyway.
