Author Topic: Help - Running Windows 95 games on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit  (Read 5212 times)

Well, azurite says if I don't own a copy of Windows 95, I'm screwed. But I just realized "Wait, why shouldn't Windows 98 work?" so I asked him. Could someone list a few general things Windows 98 would probably be a problem for?

98 should be completely compatible.
It's just an upgrade of 95. Sadly amazon says a copy of 98 is $122

Windows 98 is completely backwards compatible with DOS, 3.1, and 95. You should be OK if you install Windows 98.

Well, I'm not sure we had Windows 95, but I KNOW we had Windows 98. There's a chance we had an installation disc laying around. The only thing is my disc drive scares me, I only got it to install Windows 7, so I think I should disk image Windows 98 if I can so I don't have a scary jet running when I'm trying to play games. That is legal, since it's an owned copy and I'm not distributing it and it isn't is it?

Edit: I just asked. Apparently we broke the Windows 98 installation disc long ago... forget. And even though I owned one, downloading isn't an option.
