Author Topic: Steam updating every day?  (Read 4493 times)

Whenever I turn on my computer and launch steam, it tells me that it is updating. At first I thought it was fine. Then, it started happening every day. It happened just now, too. Is anybody else getting this? How do I stop it without reinstalling?

I guess the developers keep forgetting to add things to their updates or exploits are being discovered all the time.

It literally updates every time I restart it. I've had to restart it 5 times in an hour, and it updates for 5 minutes at a time.

Are you in the beta?  It's receiving updates every night.

I was about to say that. You're probably in the beta. Can you offline message?

I get this also, only in the Linux beta. Zenity pops up saying my steam package is out of date, then it attempts to "upgrade." Each file still has the same SHA256 hash before it attempted, and yum reports that the package is up-to-date. Hope it gets fixed soon.

I'm in the beta and it's updating basically every day.
