Author Topic: Downgrading from Windows 8 Pro to Windows 7 Home Premium  (Read 2375 times)

Is there anyway to this? I have a key that came with my computer because it was installed. I upgraded a few weeks later. Instructions would help.

Go back in time when you got your windows 8 comp
Tell yourself to buy the windows 7 one instead
Go back to present time

You can't downgrade. You'll have to back all your data up somewhere and wipe your harddrive clean.

you mean upgrade

you silly forgeter you

buy a copy of home premium, and install it on a secondary hard drive
delete EVERYTHING on the primary hard drive (where windows 8 is installed) while you are in windows 7 and then restart your computer?

Don't do it, there's no point.  Just install the 8.1 beta, it fixes so much that was weird:  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/preview?ocid=blprev_pr_wom

There's basically no difference between the two when I use them.

The only major annoyance is I have to put the Computer shortcut on the desktop so I can access files without sledging through the start menu, but otherwise I just use the desktop for everything.

whats the problem with windows 8?
if you just install classic shell (it removes the startscreen and brings back the home button) then i dont see a difference between windows 7 and 8, besides the fps increase in games and a bit better-looking windows
