Seeing as q and e are both default binds i wouldn't want to use his game controls.
But if we get this done we're probably going to make them customizable.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot about that. Maybe use the light key to swing by default, c for gas(or holding jump?), both mouse keys for hooks, and maybe the "plant brick" key for expelling blades. IDK, customization would probably be the way to go.

As far two seperate items would go, i've tried it using the dualswords + hookshot and its tedious as hell to use. Please don't go that route.

I could do this.
That'd be great. I can send you the .blend models if you're sure you're up for it.

I should be able to export it to .dts.

Actually what about overwriting spacebar for the compressed air jet?  We're not going to need minute jumping when we have this high-velocity monster working with us.  Also, along with this, having a little guide saying what key does what in bottom print would be nice, togglable with Light Key so that you don't have to look at a tutorial every time you fly around with it.

Also, if I may put in my two cents for right vs left click preference, left seems naturally stronger for slashing since (at least to me) it is a stronger finger than right, and right seems like a more auxiliary usage key.

I think it'd feel better if both hooks were separately deployable, it wouldn't be as fun if you deployed both at once.
What if uhh after it's deployed you press space to launch yourself? And when you hold shift controls of the right and left mouse change to the swords? And then to stop you let go of shift and to retract you press space or the right and left mouse again?

Iunno I think it'd be funner if the controls were a tad jank because then it'd be more of a mastery thing to use it.

I just realized that this is the 256000th topic

look at it's url

Of course, perhaps alternating naturally?

Are you speaking of the gas jets, just "Hold to use"?

And when you hold shift controls of the right and left mouse change to the swords?
I was thinking Light Key.  Shift means crouch, and while it may be overwritten, I think keep in Shift untouched for this is important for diving through small spaces if need be.  If you wanna do something special with shift, maybe it unleashes a power move like Levi's super spinny sword thing.

And then to stop you let go of shift and to retract you press space or the right and left mouse again?
Again, there's leaving shift untouched.  Perhaps using L/R mouse to fire a hook, and using them again to retract the hooks?

Definitely!

Advanced Bot will be away for a while, so is there anyone else up to the task?

you should map out a list of features first so people know what needs to be done.

left and right should most certainly be reserved for the hooks.
space can be the gas propellant.
paint can (e) can be swing swords.

i'd personally like to see a mimic of feng's controls, but that's just me.
it'd be difficult to adapt to two skill sets. also, for these to be extra fun, there should giant bots resembling titans, with proper neck hitboxes
also, the hooks would most likely be emitters i'd say.

Q/E should be swing the grapples.
