Author Topic: apple is prob. goin to buy beats..  (Read 5698 times)

If anything you're just making yourself look like a tool by wearing them

you're missing the point. headphones were made to sound good, not to be an accessory.

And t-shirts were made to clothe you and keep you warm, not to be an accessory. The thing is, anything and everything is 'an accessory.' Cars are meant to transport you from place A to B, but nobody complains that Ferraris exist as status symbols. Sunglasses shield your eyes, but rich people wear Louis Vuitton shades to show off their money. Watches are supposed to tell you the time, but ROLEX exists. Phones simply send and receive communications, but someone with an iPhone 5s or a Galaxy S III gets more attention than someone still sporting their Motorola RAZR.

Literally everything has luxury and economy versions. Luxury isn't always better than economy, but people care more about the cost than the quality.

I don't see how it's a load of stuff? Redefining market segments is how you get your company bought for 3.3 billion dollars, I have nothing but respect for such companies and products.

quick irrelevant question, do you own a pair of beats?

He already said he does.

I don't own Beats and wouldn't buy them as they are now but I still agree with his thoughts on the matter.

At least we have cheaper alternatives. As long as hipsters get ripped off, there will be competition. Completion means a better chance of finding cheaper more and more practical things.

Sure I do.

What's popular doesn't dertermine whats valid
Just because everything has a more expensive, stuff version to it doesn't mean it's right
ie: creationism

oops lol, didn't read that earlier

I see your guys' points, i'm just personally against them because i think they make you a tool.

i have earbuds that sound better than those, though. I listened to something through a friend's pair and it was just garbage.

I honestly don't care how my headphones look. As long as sound comes out of it that isn't unreasonably stuffty. Bonus points if it has a mic.

if you buy a mic sperate itusally costs less and the mic generally has better quality
there's a image someplace that has a rant about it, by I can't seem to find it

Well I allready have a pair, so I don't think I'll buy another.
It's also more convenient for the mic to be part of it so it all plugs in by USB.

The monkey wrench sounds more satisfying though.
