You can get the demo now, it's pretty cool. I started with the Roman empire, took out plenty of barbarians, the Zulu people, the Aztec people and I had a fight or two, then after crushing the Egyptians I was forced to befriend the Greeks after they took out most of my horsemen, warriors, archers, my catapult and goodness only knows what they did with my caravan.

I loved the demo. I usually play as Cleopatra, to start though. It'd be great to play as Abe Lincoln, though. :D

I played the demo for the 360. I liked it a lot but there was a time limit on the demo. Is there a time limit on the computer version?

Im pissed, its only for consoles?

I was about ten turns away from crushing the Egyptians, leaving the Zulu people before I could conquer the blasted Greeks!

Double post, bite me.

I jsut got the full game in the post. Almost a domination victory. All I have left to do is defend my cities.

Bought it. Pretty amazing, although there's not enough Custom Game options.

I was playing Alpha Centauri the other day and got everyone to unite behind me as the Supreme Ruler of the World. The funny thing is that no one actually voted for me... The voting system is based on population and a few other factors. Since I was playing as the UN, I already get 50% more votes. I built a secret project that increases my votes by another 50%, so by the time I had the election, everyone had 15 votes and I had 400.

I hope to buy Civilization Revolution. I seriously doubt that it will be able to compete with Civ IV in game options or depth, but I haven't been able to play a civilization game on the console since the SNES.

Speaking of Alpha Centauri, go buy it on Ebay, it's like $5 and its possibly the most awesome TBS game ever. You might have to mess around with it a bit to get it to work on newer computers, but I'm running it fine on my 32bit XP (even though I get a CPU not supported error on every start up, it doesn't actually hurt anything).

Alpha Centauri does look interesting. And it's one of the goals in Civilization Revolution. You can win through Domination (capture all other civilizations' capital cities), Culture (create a total of 20 great persons, wonders, and converted cities in any combination, and build the UN), Economic (create the World Bank) or Technological (be the first to reach Alpha Centauri). It's good fun, but if you've already won domination with a civilization and you try for economy, just to be buggered by the blasted French the game can get frustrating. Fortunately, a strategically placed blockade should put any London attack at bay (Except for the backstabbing Spaniards).

Yuki, I wouldn't think you would want Custom Game options. Everything seems stacked evenly for me, and playing is good fun, despite the tense defensive battles that the Greeks put people through.

Is it like an age of empires 3?

No.  Why would anyone want it to be?

I played the original Civ, but not Civ IV...  I should look into borrowing or buying it.
