Author Topic: Wall smoother. (add on that clears brick lines)  (Read 2126 times)

What we need is an add on that can clear bricks lines. Take the printer model for example change the color of it and change the script so it would get rid of lines. Also make it so it can add the lines back. Now I know you can get rid of lines by deleting the picture file of it. But why do that? Clearing the lines with this add on would be better because everyone will be able to see it on the server instead of client side.

That would be great if it was possible.
was that supposed to be a diss or burn? im confused :panda:

I think it is possible, just really hard to script.

It affects brick rendering so Badspot would have to implement this in the engine, it's impossible to change with scripts.

Idea: Have the engine make all bricks with this fx paint use a special "blank" texture when rendering instead of the TEX:BRICKSIDE ones. This would leave the studs/bottom parts of bricks, prints and the grainy part of ramps, but allow for 'smooth' walls.

I like this idea.

Space there was a V8 addon that got rid of the lines without any special textures.

It would be cooly if you hit a brick with a wrench and you got the usual:

Collision
Rendering
Ray Casting

But at also:

Lines

Yes, it got rid of lines by replacing the brickside texture with a blank one.

Are you able to script something like this Space Guy?
