Author Topic: The iphone app developers nighmare.  (Read 1126 times)

Apple has screwed us again. If you create paid apps on the iPhone an they suck, your consumers will ask for a refund. The developers have to remburse the customer 100%. Now that does not sound bad. But if it was not the 30% commision that developers pay we would be peaches and cream. Apple profits 30% on refunds. The developer may go bankrupt if the app is not pulled. Now instead of apple testing all apps when a new os comes out, they let broken crap on to the market. Apple is making a bright neon sign explaining why not to develop on the iPhone. Tell me your thoughts on this subject.

Interesting idea. Sorry for the bump.

I guess this could be Apples' way of weeding out bad apps.

No it will simply be abused and the devs will sue/not use the app store

Exactly. Or devs would not charge for apps with the fear of going bankrupt. But yes, there are apps like build a lot that wasted 5$ for a blank screen

Who is really going to ask for their $5 back?

Some pissed off person who could of spent the money on something more useful than nothing

Like a pack of gum?

Offtopic:but it, your sig said I was using a mac. I'm on an iPod touch ;D

So if you dont like the app you can ask for a refund?

no worse then wiiware, You don't get paid for your game until you sell a certain amount (determined by file size)

Tom

Another problem is Apple likes to be control of there products. The only way to get your apps out is through the app store, unless you jailbrake, but then apple just patches the break in the next update.

No, gum does something. Although a blank screen pisses off people, that does not count
