Author Topic: NO, forget, I FORGOT TO SAVE  (Read 2635 times)

In Oblivion, I was a vampire. I had half an inch of health, and when I stepped out, it autosaavedd over my save. I died immediately, and whenever I load the save I die before I can open the menu to take a potion.

15+ hours wasted.

On the Xbox 360 version of Fo3, I got stuck in Flak & Shrapnel's room in rivet city with some little girl, I saved so that I could reload if I got caught and then the door shut and I was stuck forever.

Thats what happens to me all the time >:(

The ammount of times that has happened to me before is unbelievable. I allways ended up being trapped in the room with Doctor Li. I couldn't open the door but she could, however she wouldn't open the door while I was close to her and detected. Being in the small room however meant that I couldn't get far away enough for her to ignore me and there was no where I could hide. Even using my only Stealth Boys wouldn't work. I've also gotten trapped many multiple times in Fo3 by jumping on top of tables/beds by Walls or on rubble left lying in the wasteland. It's the Wastelands themselves that are the worst for me though because I often end up travelling long distances, get a fair ammount of interesting things then either get stuck or my follower dies, so I have to reload, but I have no recent saves and my last auto-save was ages ago when I last left a building. Any time between 10-60 minutes wasted. :/

I was in a FoC campaign with a mate and I was on the verge of taking the outer rim. I got to tech 5, got the SSD, death star and a whole fleet of star destroyers. I attacked 4 planets. Thyferra, Polus, Endor, Fondor, and some other planets I think. SuperSparten couldn't defeat me even with lots of agressors. He had to go, and left. No save. A whole campaign worth of work. GONE.

What the smurf are you smurfing doing in here you smurfing mother smurfer!

Welp, managed to get back through the sand temple (It's a lot easier when you know where to go :P), so now I'm back on track.

That's pretty punny.

which is why vampires suck

I always rotate through save slots to ensure I have a backup.

Yeah, I do this often, especially when I know the auto save will kick in. Not wasting another 18 hours making a new character to repeat that crap again. Most of the time though, Auto save is a saving grace. Just small instances like that happen and I'm sure they didn't even intend it.

This can be a bad feature in itself. In Dragon Age Origins, I had to restart a character of 18 hours of play because it autosaved on a boss attacking me that I was too weak to fight. No alt saves or anything. Just had to boof it from scratch because every time it loaded, The advanced rage demon and it's little auto heal party would gank me the second it loaded and the game doesn't allow you to escape through doors to avoid it.
You can turn it off.

i was playing GTA: SA and i got SOOOOOOOOOOOO far, i reached to where i got myself an airfield when the game froze... i hadn't saved it or anything so i had to start over

I did. But it didn't solve the problem. I just scrapped that character and started over again. No biggie. Just a game afterall.
