No it scans where ever it saw a target last.

Well the point is it scans a narrow area, but if a target approaches from behind it will still turn around, albeit slowly.

I think he means that it scans the 90 degree area very quickly, but the other 270 degrees slowly. I can run around a level 3 sentry and not die.
