THE SIMS 3
ABOUT
The Sims 3 (sometimes called TS3 or Sims 3) is the most recent installment of The Sims franchise. Its creation was confirmed on November 2, 2006, by EA chief financial officer Warren Jenson who said, "Yes, there's a Sims 3 in development and it's likely to be a fiscal '09 title." In July 2007 AI researcher Richard Evans, who is part of the TS3 team, gave a talk at the annual AIIDE (Artificial Intelligence and Interactive Digital Entertainment) conference in California, The title was to be released on February 20, 2009 according to the official Sims 3 website, but was delayed worldwide to June 2, 2009.
Electronic Arts cites the reason for the delay was to "create awareness for The Sims 3". It is produced notably by Ben Bell.
In The Sims 2: FreeTime, a computer is delivered by Mr. Rod Humble to every household that a player plays. On it, Sims can play The Sims 3 game. A video of this can be seen on YouTube. It shows something towards a continuous, panning neighborhood, diagonal placings for objects, better lighting systems, and the ability to change shoes in the CAS, an ability previously limited to only console versions of The Sims. The preview only lasts about one minute, and has poor resolution.
The Sims 3 Official Site also reveals that players now have greater customization options. Such things like Personality, Create-A-Sim, and Build Mode have been expanded.
It has been confirmed that several Expansion packs will ship periodically after the game's initial release.
The game has disc-based copy protection – there is a Serial Code just like The Sims 2. To play the game no online authentication is required.
EXPANSIONSTHE SIMS 3: WORLD ADVENTURES
The Sims 3: World Adventures is an expansion pack released on 17 November 2009 in Canada, the US, Australia and Asia, the 19th or 20th in Europe, Africa and China for Windows and Macintosh. It is the first expansion pack for The Sims 3. This confirmed speculation that expansion packs would be released after The Sims 3 as its predecessors The Sims and The Sims 2 had numerous expansion packs. The first hint of this expansion pack showed up on a French gaming site JeuxVideoPC.com in March 2009, under the title Les Sims 3 Destination Aventure. The game was officially announced on August 3, 2009 at a press release for Electronic Arts. Information about the game appeared on both The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 websites after this. The iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad versions were released on April 2, 2010.
The game is reminiscent of previous expansion packs The Sims: Vacation and The Sims 2: Bon Voyage as players can take their Sims away to vacation destinations. Like the previous two games mentioned, Sims once again have the choice of partaking in three different forms of vacations but in a first for the series, the new vacation destinations are based on real World locations. Sims are able to vacation in new locations: Shang Simla, Champs Les Sims and Al Simhara. These new locations are the same size as neighborhoods Sunset Valley and Riverview, and parody the countries of China, France and Egypt respectively.
The sims 3: Ambitions
The Sims 3: Ambitions (Also known as The Sims 3: Hobbies and Professions before the official announcement), is an expansion pack for The Sims 3 released on June 1st, 2010. It allows players to become "fearless heroes and ace entrepreneurs". In other words, it's a career oriented expansion pack, a spiritual remake of The Sims 2: Open for Business, but with added activities. Ambitions also appears to be somewhat related to The Sims 2: FreeTime.
EA Games confirmed Ambitions on March 4th, 2010.
The Sims 3: Ambitions will also be available for feature phones, iPhone and iPod touch in late 2010.
A free patch for The Sims 3 was released on May 28, 2010. It introduced tattoos and other updates to the base game. The new Create a Pattern tool is a free download just like the Create a World tool, and was released on June 23, 2010.
The sims 3: Late night. Yet to be released.
The Sims 3: Late Night is the confirmed third expansion pack for The Sims 3. It was confirmed on July 20, 2010 at EA's Studio Showcase. It was previously rumored under the name After Dark. Its announced features are reminiscent of features also included in The Sims: Hot Date, The Sims 2: Nightlife, The Sims: Superstar, and The Urbz: Sims in the City.
