Gameplay is the same as any other FPS. The only unique thing is creative weapons/vehicles.

I remember that I was so happy when I beat Halo 1. When I beat Halo 2 I wasn't even that happy.

Its not really the game, I find it pretty decent, its just all these people going "OMG HALO IS SO COOLZ, STUPID PS3 cigaretteS DON'T DESERVE THIS LOLZ!" or "STFU, HALO IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN YOUR cigaretteGISH COD, UNCHRTED, AND ALL OTHER NON EXCLUSIVE XBAWKS 360 GAEMS"!

Halo is fun for the first few hours, then you get bored of it. It's widely played by 12 year old kids because their parents need something to babysit their blank mind and drooling faces.
