Author Topic: Rift - new game just got out of Beta. AWESOME GAME!!!  (Read 4031 times)

after guild wars 2 this will be left on the dust anyways

I played the beta for a bit and really enjoyed, best MMO I've played actually and it didn't feel like WoW at all, besides the parts of it that exist in every MMO, due to them being the foundations of an MMO.
The class system is revolutionary as far as I know and I really enjoyed it.

There are so called innovations, but what they are is just the exact same things disguised.

Example:

Look at the innovative talents tree and all the paths you can take!

Ok WoW has 10 classes, 3 talent trees each = 30 'different paths'

Rift= 4 classes, 8 different options for each = 32 'different paths'

YES QUITE INNOVATIVE, JUST MAKE THE CLASS CATEGORY'S MORE GENERAL SO YOU CAN HAVE A stuff TON OF SUB CLASSES WHERE PROBABLY WHICH HALF ARE CARBON COPIES WITH A DIFFERENT HAIRCUT.

Someone no good at math. In rift you pick 3 classes. Which gives 56 possible combinations per base class.

56 combinations * 4 callings = 224

Also although you have 3 talent trees like on WoW, this game is way more open to do like a 20/20/20 build as opposed to in WoW where you have to max 1 tree and only go 10 in a sub tree.

So you can pick your skill trees?

What a game seller. My point still stands about how the 8 'paths' under each category are probably pretty similar. How different can Ranger and Marksman be?

Also someone isn't good at english.

Because I totally didn't purposely say it like that. Also you picked the only 2 classes that sound similar, but are very different. Ranger although sounding like a class that is focused on bows, is actually focused on its beast pet. Marksman is the one that focuses on powerful bow shots. Also even if they were similar, imagine taking the priest, paladin, druid, and shaman and getting to pick the 3 talent trees you wanted from all 4 of them, that is how rift is much more customizable than WoW.

I love the saboteur class, it's so fun to load people up with charges and blow them. I kind of want to buy the game but I would probably get bored of it after a while like I do with all MMOs.

Yea I made a new guy and it is currently riftstalker/saboteur. So I can tank and throw grenades, a dream come true! I like how you can eventually have 4 completely different specs. I think I will have 1 as a tank, 1 as a PVP DPS, 1 as PVP harassment, and 1 as support.

Your all bagging on it, saying its just another WoW, but think about it for a second... Is it better or worse than WoW, does it have more features and is it more playable? idk, to me it looks a lot better than WoW, even though it looks like it, which it does, in so many ways.

You are looking at it the wrong way along with everyone else. The only thing people need to be doing is playing it and deciding if it is fun or getting the forget out.

I plan on getting it when I have 2 things, money, and a computer to run it on.
