Author Topic: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl - A Glitchy Mindforget  (Read 712 times)

Let's start at the beginning, I start a new game, learn how to play, then go on my way.  I do the first mission, come back to find the door is broken.  I assume he's closed for the night, come back later to find out it's still locked.  I try to install the mod that fixes this, but it doesn't work.  (I am using the latest patch.)  So, I just bite the dust and start a new game.  Door doesn't get stuck this time, on next mission I have two options, run through an electrified tunnel and die or fork up 500 RU to the military.  I tried the tunnel and was killed, many times.  I try paying, and it works (which is a nice change for things.)  I ask the guy about Strelok and it starts to work, then he turns around in a corner, gun drawn and sits there, unable to be talked too.

Waste of my money.

Call of Pripyat was good.

You should have got shadow, even more buggy.

Also what mod did you download?

Something hostile has most likely come near and put him into the warning state.

Also per-chance have you patched the game yet? Although from the lack of you complaining about crashes I guess you have.

Er, he is playing "shadow"

Also it's a good game if you ignore the unfinished buggy-ness of it. (Although they do add a bit of character too it) And there is quite a few cool mods for it too, although I'd advise finishing the game vanilla before trying any.

This one.

Ninja: Oh, and you're probably right about the hostile things.

That means I have to use a sawn-off to fight off the military under the bridge.

I mean clear sky.

Sorry ;-;

Where did you get this game?
It could be piracy protection your dealing with.

Also if you can get it to work, definitely not a waste of money.  It's a great game.

If you do all the missions properly, explore as much as you can and break every box you'll have a silenced pistol and enough ammo to kill all the guards from the top of the bridge embankment.
If you go up the top embankment and walk onto the little concrete ledge jutting out then crouch, you'll be pretty much unkillable.

As long as you can aim properly.

And yes, even with the bugs it is a wonderful game, no other game of it's kind has given me so much playtime and I loved every second of it

I was being too hard on it.  I got the bugs fixed and it works fine.

Also, I got it on Steam from my old account.
