There is a war industry, if you think there isn't then you're stoopid.

Service Rifle - Colt
Planes - Lockheed Martin, Boeing, General Dynamics, etc.
Armored Vehicles - General Dynamics, BAE Systems.
Infantry Armor - The IOTV, Interceptor, OTV, and MTV were all produced via defense contractors.

There is little made by the government and even things made by the government are usually produced by companies.
I believe you left out Knights Armorment and Bushmaster.

What. If you're talking about the AR-15, that's a civilian version of the M4A1. Our soldiers don't use it.

I just put the most major ones but yeah, Knights Arament produced the SOPMOD Block I's RIS, the foregrip, and alot of other rifle related accesories, and the SOPMOD Block II features rails from Daniel Defense, not to mention the sights (Eotech, Aimpoint, Trijicon) and then laser tech (Insight Technology). Pretty much everything is from the private sector, hardly anything if anything at all is produced by the government.

I don't think Bushmaster has any contracts with the Department of Defense though and I'm pretty sure that Colt has the only contract for M4/M16s.
