I built a TV once that ran on DVD's in blockland and it worked fine. Only the video's looked more like animations than regular videos. And i did this without any add ons at all. Just default add ons. Sooo yeah whats wrong with regular tv building?

You forgot how it needed to have a very large screen and painfully evented pictures though.

Animated print bricks have been made before.
I made one.
There is virtually no lag.

However.... download times are terriable.

I still think it would be nice if you explained to people how that worked :V

Animated PNG's are old stuff. Implementing them to the engine is another thing though.
