PS3 Problem

So I was about to play Just Cause 2, it was instaling the game software/whatever

It froze up for 30 minutes on 34% so I shut it down. It didn't shut down the normal way so I switched it off.

When I turned it back on, the sound is distorted, like the high pitched tones are removed.

Instead of the normal 'BEEP!' whenever you move on the main menu, it's a beep..

Help, please.

have you had rowdy guests/destructive siblings around lately? sounds to me like someone messed around with it and damaged it. i dont see how dust or anything else could damage it.

No, I had used it 1 or 2 days ago, nothing had happened. It was working fine when I started it up to update
