but FSX probably wont help with VFR/IFR, or learning to deal with high winds if you're in a sticky situation
although, I imagine it can't hurt
my mom might actually buy it for me, given these particular reasons and circumstances
I know for a fact there is Vfr and ifr tooling in the sim.

maybe I'm thinking of something else, because I don't know if I've ever used FSX specifically

it's got all of those.
there are some videos on YT of people doing cross-wind landings and the such, that and VFR/IFR, and ILS landings. It's got almost everything as far as I'm concerned.

also I want to get a license, but I saw something about a medical thingy? Dunno what that is really.

you'll have to sustain physical pressure on your body when flying around, especially when going for a landing because that might throw you into overfreight/transhipment/overwork/overload/surcharge/englishisn'tmyfirstlanguage

Friend and I are planning to get our Private Pilot Licence's next summer.
We already have permission to use another friends fathers plane when we do as long as we pay for the fuel.

speaking of fuel, how expensive is it? for like, Cessna 150s and similar

About $25-40 worth of fuel per hour flying under fairly normal conditions. Obviously that number has a lot of variables attached. But it's a reasonable estimate.

Planes are far too expensive here in ausland, so I'm going to try helicopters in a few months instead.

that's not too much, really
not like fuel for a F-35 or a 747
