Hello.
I don't like anything auto starting. I don't like anything auto logging. I don't like anything remembering passwords for me.
It's not a paranoia thing either. If I want to use steam, I'll open steam. If I want to use my account on steam, I'll log into my account. If I want to log into my account, I'll type my username and password. There's also situations when someone else wants to use my computer. I don't want them to have to deal with a bunch of auto-login crap. I get sick of having a bunch of crap start up and log in when I'm trying to fix someone's computer which sometimes requires multiple restarts. Then all their friends are like "wtf get off my friends computer she's not even home who are you?" and crap like that.
If they want to use your computer, set up a separate guest account.
Personally I like having the computer in the state that I'm going to use it as soon as it starts. For me, at least, that includes starting Steam.
