Game Maker 8.1 Buy problem?

I bought Game Maker a long time ago. But now it's all new. I looked for my old activation code and when I put it in, it says 'This looks like a softwrap code. Please upgrade to Game Maker 8.1'. Any help? I coulden't find any on Game Maker.
