none of that is related...

What I got the impression of was that giving civilians guns would stop an invading force.

well first of all, americans dont just have a bunch of handguns. we have legal assault rifles in our homes.

and the post was about the UN making deals with the US right now about forcibly disarming all US citizens soon.
you ever wonder why the phrase "from my cold dead hands" is so threateningly inappropriate for no reason?
because these are UN bills that started in 1961 that has been on everyones minds.
that obama is currently wrapping up the laws now

Sounds smart. Sort of. You shouldn't be able tp carry a concealed weapon.
Who said they had to be concealable? Also drugs like Cocaine are illegal, but millions of people make, smuggle it, sell it, buy it, and use it everyday. Did some ink of a piece of paper stop that? What makes you think a piece of paper will stop a guy geting a gun and shooting something? The founding fathers put the 2nd amendment in the constituion for a reason and that was to mass up and take that the government should it fail in its function to protect us. We made to mistakes like creating a large standing army and giving politicians way to much power. Also please remember this quote for me, "People who don't know their rights or willing to fight for their freedom don't deserve it."

Because having a .22 will stop a nuclear fallout.

I doubt they'll attack mainland Americans civilians other than with bombs or nukes, then clear out the rest with infantry.
They will probably use lesser warheads like cruise missiles and take out power stations and Communication Centers, then carpet bomb populations who resist, then send infantry and tanks to clear out the rest. Then rebuild anything like power structures and take control of the populations that submit.

I should be refered to as "Count Darkness".

I know someone from Iran his name is "Mir", and the pronunciation is very close to the dutch word "meer", which means more.

Jokes like "Ik wil mir/I want more" ensured

The IRS screwed my parents a few years back and then in order to "make things right" we had to sell our guns. I was pissed because we had some pretty great guns.

And
Here
We
Go!
I'm going to hit the next friend that says this.

Why did you put quotes?

He's rightly implying that the US always make things worse.

Meer also means lake.

I say the U.S. should support the Ottoman Empire.
None of the Arab nations would want to submit to Turkish rule again.

the second ammendment doesn't even really apply to the conditions of the world we live in today.
Keep in mind that stuff was written hundreds of years ago when we were just  a group of rebels fighting for freedom.
The brits at any time could attack a settlement and it was necessary for people to be able to ready a weapon swiftly in self defense.

Criminals will always get guns regardless, true. But how often does a common man with a gun actually lawfully defend himself with said gun? There are many gun related deaths due to accidents. Especially along the lines of little kids getting a hold of their parents' guns and shooting each other thinking its a game.
Murderers will murder either way, but havng more gun control could prevent accidental incidents.

We don't live in a world where the average citizen needs to be constantly prepared for war anymore there will never be a time when our army is completely defeated and its left to regular people to fight.
Its really pretty impossible considering the sheer amount of soldiers that would come out of a draft.

But really, if the us was to fall it wouldn't be because of events on the battlefield, it would be because of economic hardships, which if history has showed us anything, the US economy tends to get better in war time because of our massive production of planes and stuff.

Lol, there's already a 'massive production of planes and stuff.'
