Someone tell that uneducated person that we do not import a single drop from Iran. Secret cartels rise prices you make people in the states think that.
We could try a grow large amount of corn and other stuff to make fuel. There are many farms and ranches too, so methane is not in short supply.
"a single drop"
The US imports around 20%-30% of it's oil from the Middle East, not to mention other amenities such as medication drugs. No doubt China would take a side and Russia would follow. Together, that's around 70% of our importation trade, which of course is what makes the supply of the items lower, without the demand lowering, effectively increasing the price of oil by 70%-80%, meaning a $3 gallon of gas would be $6-$7. If this all happens, not only will the price of oil raise, but so will toys, computers, Xbox 360s, and even bottled water. Even if this stays in Iran/Israel, the price of gas will still increase. Why? Because gas companies think that whenever a tragic event happens, they can charge more.

See 2005 spiking up? That's Katrina. 2011? Japanese earthquake. Even though we get a measly 3%-5% of our oil from Japan, they still raised their prices, because if everyone raises their prices, a new average is made. Sort of like how earbuds were 12 keys in TF2, but then people started asking 22 keys for them and the price shot up because everyone asks the same price, even when it's worth less.
