You're right, it does, but every time me and 3 other friends try to play it freezes or crashes with more than two people. Every single time. We've googled the problem and tried every fix we could find. A lot of other people have the issue to and the developers havent done anything but a few networking fixes that they say "should" fix the problem but it didnt.
