In 2010 or 2009 I did a windows reinstall and backed up everything on my MP4. When I formatted everything, that apparently included my MP4 and lost 2007-2010 worth of heavy amount of rare and awesome RTB save files, screenshots, and other crap.

when i was a little kid i explored the super smash bros 64 menu and since i couldn't speak or read english yet i accidentally selected "delete save data"

oh god my brothers were so mad at me and i was mad at myself once i realized what unholy deed i had done.

and one time when i was playing mario and luigi superstar saga as a kid, my save data disappeared out of nowhere. and i had just beaten hermie III too godammit why is life so unfair

I had a near 100% save in super smash bros melee, then there was a power outage when It was saving one day and the save was corrupted.

I deleted my Skyrim saves because I didn't want to backtrack from my last save point.

Turns out, if you die in Skyrim afterwards you are dead.

Forever.
