Author Topic: Awesomenauts: Starstorm expansion Kickstarter campaign!  (Read 692 times)

The Awesomenauts, the popular side-scrolling MOBA by Ronimo Games (who also made Swords & Soldiers and De Blob), is now running a kickstarter campaign to bring the community some REALLY nice things with the upcoming expansion DLC, Starstorm!

Introductory video

What can we get?
The main goal includes three new Awesomenauts (action hero Ted McPain, space hitchhiker Skree and inflitrator robot Sentry X-58), Spectator mode, Twin-Stick support for gamepads, global chat and new music.

Stretch goals!
A new map (the titular Starstorm spacestation with guns and robots) and more new music!
Two new 'nauts to play with down the line!
Custom Games! (ranging from Team Deathmatch to Horde Mode to Single-Player Campaigns)
Replays and Infinite Spectator Mode (the basic Spectator Mode is somewhat limited)!
Level Editor and Steam Workshop support!
Character Editor! (make new 'nauts to play in Custom Games!)
AI Editor!

We need all the support that we can get.
The guys have already collected almost $40,000 in the first day, and there are 28 more to come! And in order to reach all stretch goals we would need to pledge an average of ~21 thousand dollars per day. Plausible? Maybe!

For those wanting to donate via PayPal, it will be available once the main goal of $125,000 is reached.
So go there and donate! Get the news spreading! This needs as much support as is humanly possible. (c'mon, this much modding support is simply too good to pass up on, at least for me)

Why do they need to open a kickstarter to make an expansion?

That custom games looks veeery nice.

Why do they need to open a kickstarter to make an expansion?

So that they can get more money to allocate for it.
They're an indie company, after all. They need all the money they need, and they're giving us nice things for that.

Cool. I like this game.

I pledged thinking I would get the base game (Like it says at the 15 dollar level) right now, then the DLC later.

I was wrong. Cancelling my pledge for now.
