Lol, I'm willing to bet somebody played Tribes.

Why would they abandon a cash cow? They've been making bank off of Smite and I doubt they are going to stop any time soon.
Not to mention I really doubt that is why you quit.

They we're making money off of Tribes too, but as soon as it started to dip they abandoned it. Ill give Smite a year.

You do that. I'm almost certain Smite is much more successful and makes a bunch more money than tribes was and did.
Considering I've been playing it for longer than a year, I'd bet money it's still up and running with a good flow of updates in a year from now.

I probably am just bitter about Tribes, but so are a lot of people.

Yeah I know they are. But it wasn't really making the money they had hoped it would so they moved on to Smite which turned out pretty good for them. I'm not supporting their decision to completely abandon a game like that but I can understand why they did it.

On the topic of smite. What new gods have been released since Hermes?

i don't really know since i've only been playing for about 2 months, but since i've been playing they've re-released Kali and He Bo and have release Nu Wa.

they've done a ton of aesthetic changes though, like they revamped the UI and the HUD, redid the conquest map, etc

I will admit that I am bitter about Tribes and refused to even try Smite because of it.

Ya that's the problem they let fun games with a unique twist like Tribes go to stuff so they could cash in on the easy moba game scene. I've seen talks with the developers and they're all a bunch of pricks.

Same goes with every other game they've worked on. As soon as it starts to decline, they abandon it and start fresh with a new, more profitable game.
