Author Topic: loving adware.  (Read 1327 times)

Sometimes like it'll say like "download these if you press continue or press cancel or w/e if you don't want to download it" and it downloads it no matter if they're checked or not, it's forgeted.

you don't have much of a choice

Used:

Norton
Revo Uninstaller
ADWCleaner
Malwarebytes

Malwarebytes is stuff, it has caused me nothing but trouble in the past.

maybe I just don't scan often enough but malwarebytes doesn't do anything bad in my experience
actually i've never really had malware before, except like...once and the only thing it did was make shift+rclick not work

I really just avoid downloaders and try to find another download if possible
and if not possible then I just check for added software

Next time don't blindly hit "next" for that loving installer for a "free" game.

Norton is stuff.

Try Avast.

Can you guys get off of the Norton bandwagon? I use it because it gets the job done.

Norton is stuff.
No it isn't?

But it's not the best software out there, either. I've had luck with it for lots of viruses and stuff, but it doesn't detect nearly as much as Avast, and sadly AVG (you can call AVG stuff).

There is something called ComboFix, but I wouldn't use it unless it's super serious.
