Does it exist?

Yeah, too many addons and they won't show up in the "select addons" menu of the custom gamemode

Author Topic: Is there a limit on addons(not datablocks) that can show up for a custom game?  (Read 731 times)

This doesn't concern datablocks. When doing a "custom" gamemode, theres a list of addons and circles next to them. Thats what I mean.

Is there a limit on how many addons you can have available to select when doing a custom gamemode? (By limit, I mean "shove too many addons in the addons folder, and when you go to the custom gamemode menu some of them won't appear.)
There's probably a technical limit to how many virtual functions can exist before the game breaks. Probably like 3,000 add-ons or something.

I'm concerned as to why you want to know.
I have a crapload of addons in the addons folder.
Hopefully because he wants to have a rough idea when he has to stop enabling them. There is not really an easy time efficient way to count them though, so I am still missing the OP's point.
Not enabling them and reaching a datablock limit, though. I mean the menu when you pick which addons to use. If I have an excessive amount of addons waiting to be enabled/disabled in that menu, will they show up?

Every single brickpack from the rtb megadump is in the addon folder.

How exactly would it break?

How exactly would it break?
buffer overflows and stuff like that.

Yes there is.
Go to your Blockland folder, Right click on the Add-Ons folder, Hit Properties and it'll show how many folders are inside of that folder.

Anyways, Whats the limit of datablocks again? Can't remember.

I'm pretty sure 4096 datablocks is the limit.

I made a quick little script to create fake add-ons to test how many add-ons will be listed, and I was able to do 5000+defaults.
So, if there is a limit, I doubt we could hit it.

Yea, I am pretty certain that is the datablock limit.

Edit: Just tested 9000, it worked still.

Really? Was everything working?
Did the limit increase or something?

But what does the scouter say

I think he means he tested to see how many add-ons were listed, not how many datablocks he had enabled.

Yeah.
