Author Topic: Well forget, Somebody Hacked my Battle.net Account  (Read 1684 times)

Yeah, has anybody here had this happen before? My battle.net account was locked for suspicious activity and when I try to perform an account recovery, it said that my email/name combination didn't exist. Great.
I looked up the issue and apparently, this has happened to some people before where their account was compromised and the email address changed. Beautiful.  All I wanted to do was play some loving Starcraft. I remember before that, the account was compromised last year when I had a stuffty password, but I since changed it to an infinitely more secure password, and I specifically chose a non-English word so that it wouldn't be in a keyword list, followed by many random numbers/letters. Somehow, they still got in. So, I'm guessing I have to call Blizzard about this? Because since the Email was changed, I have no real way of gaining access to the account without knowing the email which was changed.

Bonus picture for maximum anger

I even went back into past emails to make sure that I had not registered a last name, or a false name, or anything of the sort, and it appears to me that the only way for me to get my account back now would be to call Blizzard. Last time my account was locked, it was hacked by some Taiwanese people making spam bot trial accounts on the WoW Taiwan server. loving asians.

If your only choice is to call Blizzard, then do it. You can also try e-mailing support, though I dunno how much they'd be able to help.

loving asians.

forget you too

forget you too
most of these account infiltrations come from the chinese
google alerted me like twice in a month that some bozo from china tried to log into my gmail account

Why does everyone come to these forums for tech help? Like none of us will be of use. Go to the blizzard forums, email/call tech support. Tell them your situation. Download Malewarebytes, run a few scans to try and detect a keylogger. Remove the keylogger. Recovery your account and give it a new password, start changing passwords on vital things. Stop going to strange websites and downloading stuff like trainer, maphack, free gold, etc.

Likely was phished or virus. I recommend doing the account recovery on a different PC.

did you send in a support ticket yet?
https://us.battle.net/support/en/help/solution/wow/641
i sent in one for hearthstone and got a reply in about 24 hours, no idea how it is for wow though

You know World of Warcraft?
Starcraft?
Hearthstone?
They're based out of battle.net

One time my Battle.Net account got hacked and it took a day to get it back after emailing support. I was quite amazed to find that whoever hacked my account had done nothing with it besides create a gold-retailer spam character on a server I didn't play on in WoW.

stuff was weird, I tell you what.

It's Blizzard's account sysyem used to logon to games
(only seen it in starcraft)
