Author Topic: I think my dad is dying  (Read 3813 times)

You guys keep telling him to call 911... his dad can refuse treatment and transport.

Alternative probably hasn't experienced a situation like this so its all a joke to him.

It's gonna suck when it does and people laugh it him for it.

I'm asking for what I should do

What you should do? Spend as much time with your dad as possible. Don't leave yourself wishing you'd spent more time with him if he's really going that way.

as I've said
I don't even KNOW if he's dying, I'm making an educated guess since he just doesn't seem the same

tl;dr I think my dad is dying because his body is giving out
nah
unless he was drinking energy drinks for 5 years straight and no water or anything else his kidneys aren't failing
your dad is just becoming old like everyones dad and an underlying problem that isn't going to kill him is just having more effects on him. get him to the doctor to ease it up or die trying

Guys, calling 911 isn't going to help. Their is nothing the responding EMTs or paramedics would be able to do on scene. Best case scenario is they would transport him to the hospital to get looked at. However worst case scenario, and the most likely to happen, is his dad refuses treatment.

Just because we show up doesn't mean they have to come with us. I was on a call where a father of 5 had an irregular and potentially lethal heart pattern. Despite this he refused to come with us to the hospital. The responders would show up, make sure he doesn't have any immediate life threatening problems. Then they would make him sign a patient care refusal form and leave. Sorry, but calling 911 isn't the solution.

Anyway, I'm sorry Nal. If I were you I would just try my best to convince him to go. Even if he doesn't want to do it, ask if he will at least get checked for you and your family.
